Une forme déviante de l'enthousiasme : la possession démoniaque. Le Discours admirable (1586) de Jeanne Fery

Abstract : Abstract. The great affairs of demonic possession of the XVIth and XVIIth centuries brought to a wide audience the voice of the devil. Jeanne Fery's text proposed a version at least eccentric of this " diabolical enthusiasm ": the possession passes through the incorporation of the pacts she signed with the devil – a model linked to Catholic theophagy – and her liberation by signing a new pact, but this time with Marie-Madeleine. "Enthusiasm" is therefore reversible – the saint taking the place of the devil – and takes the surprising form of a written contract.
