Histoire et identité dans "La Terre qui penche" et "Du Domaine des Murmures" de Carole Martinez

Abstract : In Carole Martinez’s novels Du Domaine des Murmures (2011) and La Terre qui penche (2015), female characters are placed in the foreground and historical elements are used while the author creates a singular inner life for her heroines. This understanding of the feminine itself is linked to the choice of the historical novel genre. Carole Martinez expresses how present the past is. We analyse here which feminine models are preferred by the author, in order to convey to her readers the complexity of the Middle Ages. This perception of History allows her to enrich the concept of identity.
