« Qui se ressemble s’assemble… » : le recrutement des jeunes diplômés dans les professions de cadre commercial

Abstract : To improve the employability of young higher-education graduates, one solution would be filling the gap between their profile and recruiter expectations. But this would require expectations that are quantifiable, identifiable, and stable! This article shows that recruiter practices rely on perceptions concerning social background and environment, education and/or certification, and professional experience as much as candidate personality. Recruiters evaluate candidates according to the yardstick of their own social, educational, and professional paths, thus leading them to favour candidates like themselves. Three cases are presented, each one characterising a different way of apprehending applications when making hiring recommendations.
