Determination of Winding Lumped Parameter Equivalent Circuit by Means of Finite Element Method

Abstract

In this paper, the finite element method is used in order to determine the electrical parameters of a machine winding lumped element model. Thanks to this model, it will be possible to determine the electrical behavior of electrical machine winding fed by a power converter and thus to study the distribution of the turn-to-turn maximum voltage stress as early as the design process. The suitability of the method is validated by comparison with measurements.
