L’expérience du beau dans l’herméneutique philosophique de Hans-Georg Gadamer et dans l’esthétique théologique de Hans Urs von Balthasar

Die theologische Ästhetik Hans Urs von Balthasars und die phänomenologische Hermeneutik Hans Georg Gadamers weisen Analogien in der Weise auf, wie sie die ästhetische und religiöse Erfahrung definieren und voneinander abheben. Während die Normativität der Erfahrung der Kunst ontisch und ontologisch begründet ist, ist die Norm der religiösen Erfahrung allein Jesus Christus. Von diesem Grundunterschied aus werden die Vermittlungsqualität von literarischen Texten und der Heiligen Schrift sowie das Verhältnis zur Tradition, zur Welt und zur Geschichte unterschiedlich hergeleitet. Horizont von Hermeneutik und Theologie bleibt die Endlichkeit des Menschen. Während Balthasar die Endlichkeit von einer klassischen Metaphysik der Substanz aus denkt, rückt Gadamer in deren Nähe, ohne jedoch ihrem Objektivismus verhaftet zu bleiben.
This paper analyses the resemblances and differences in the way, the theological Aesthetics of Hans Urs von Balthasar and the phenomenological Hermeneutics of Hans Georg Gadamer define the experience of aesthetic and theological beauty. It points out that the norm of aesthetic experience is ontically and ontologically founded, while religious experience is only founded in the mysterious of the Trinity. The differences in the way, Gadamer and Balthasar describe the hermeneutical status of the text and the relationship with tradition and the world, are derived from this central difference. The finitude of human being is differently set by both thinkers, and that allows us to distinguish the philosophical faith from the Christian one.
