Non-linear evolution equations and hyperelliptic covers of elliptic curves

We study the general properties of spectral curves associated to doubly-periodic solutions of Korteweg-deVries, sine-Gordon, Non-linear Schrödinger and 1D Toda equations, and construct examples of arbitrary genus.
